The Back packing back story

I always knew I wanted to go travelling but never had the courage to go alone. I first started working in hospitality to save up, but just kept putting off going solo. A few girls trips later and I finally plucked up the courage to just quit my job and go solo...

But where the hell do you begin, right?!

For the years of group trips, I was 90% of the time the organiser but even so, where do you begin to go when your options are endless.

South East Asia, being the stereotypical backpacker place seemed like a good starting point and when you're already that far over the other side of the world, you might as well go to Australia too right!?

group tours?

From there, I compared any and every online itinerary and group trip I found. Trip after trip, country after country to see what would fit best, to see as much as possible with the time I had. Then, before I knew it, I had a one way ticket to Australia and four group tours over 4 months all booked in - Australia, Bali, Thailand and Laos, and a solo trip to Singapore in the plan too. And the rest was history...

I ended up not having to quit my job the time, they were pretty good about me taking a few months off to go

Most of 2019 pretty much consisted of googling and youtubing tips. What was the best bag? Or is a suitcase better? Packing cubes? Never heard of them before but everyones reccomending them. Do I need to get jabs sorted for all the different countries I was going to?

Even though there was so many different resources online, what I really wanted was an easy starter guide all in one place, covering, how to plan/ prepare for my first solo trip...
