Bali
December 2019
Two weeks in Bali: 15 people, one island, endless memories
Travelling around Bali with a group of 15 was just as mad, magical, and unforgettable as it sounds. From sunrise treks to late-night beach chats, we crammed our two weeks full of culture, nature, and a fair bit of organised chaos. Here’s how we explored the island - what we got up to, where we went, and what you won’t want to miss.

Laos
December 2019
I kicked off my Southeast Asia adventure in Laos in December 2019, spending seven days there over Christmas. I travelled with G Adventures, but I’ll admit, Laos wasn’t quite what I expected.
After Bali, I was still feeling a bit off, thank goodness I was with the nicest group of people and whilst Luang Prabang had its charm with golden temples and tranquil waterfalls, I found myself not fully connecting with the place. Despite this, I’d still love to return one day when I’m feeling better and ready to give it another shot.
The highlight of my time in Laos was the overnight boat trip to the Thai border, which was an unforgettable experience, offering views of stunning landscapes along the way.

Thailand
December 2019 - February 2020
Thailand – December 2019:From Laos, I made my way into Thailand, where I spent a week travelling solo. I began in Chiang Mai, soaking up the laid-back atmosphere and exploring the ancient temples and lush mountains that surrounded the city. Then, I headed to Bangkok, where the vibrant energy of the city was a stark contrast. The chaotic markets, impressive palaces, and mouth-watering street food made it impossible not to fall in love with the place. After a few days, I ventured south to the beautiful beaches, then took a flight to Singapore for a short solo adventure
After my solo travels in Singapore, I returned to Thailand in January 2020, this time with GAP 360. The experience was different, as I was part of a group tour that took me to some of Thailand’s hidden gems. From the stunning islands of Koh Samui and Koh Tao to exploring local markets and temples, it felt like the perfect way to experience the country. I loved the camaraderie of travelling with others, especially during such a crazy time when the pandemic was looming. I managed to squeeze in as much as I could before heading back home—just before everything changed.

Singapore
January 2020
Singapore was an absolute highlight of my travels. The city-state was so different from the others I’d visited, with its futuristic skyline, impeccably clean streets, and blend of modernity and tradition. I spent four days exploring the iconic landmarks, such as Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay, and indulging in the diverse food scene. From hawker centres to Michelin-starred restaurants, Singapore was a food lover’s paradise. It was a quick stop, but one I’ll never forget.
Sri Lanka
February 2022
Finally, after the chaos of 2020 and 2021 I made my way to Sri Lanka in February 2022. It was exactly what I needed after being cooped up for so long. Sri Lanka was a paradise of lush green landscapes, ancient temples, and golden beaches. I hiked up the famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress, relaxed in the coastal town of Mirissa, and spent time discovering the rich culture and history of the island. Sri Lanka was the perfect way to wrap up my Southeast Asian journey, offering a sense of peace and adventure all at once.
